Varthamanam is a Malayalam movie directed by Sidhartha Siva and written by Aryadan Shoukath. Benzy Nazar and Aryadan Shoukath produced this movie under the banner of Benzy Productions.
Varthamanam featured Roshan Mathew and Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead role, alongside Siddique, Aurora Adya, Balaji Mishra, Dain Davis, Himanshu Dhankhar, Sanju Sanichen, Sanju Sivram, Nirmal Palazhi, Rudra Aura and Karuna Singh Chauhan in supporting roles. Alagappan did the cinematography of the Varthamanam movie. The film was edited by Sameer Muhammed. The music of Varthamanam was composed by Ramesh Narayanan and Hesham Abdul Wahab, with lyrics by Rafeeq Ahmed and Vishal Johnson.
Parvathy Thiruvoth plays the role of Fazia Sophia, a research student who is going to Delhi for higher studies from Kerala.
Earlier, the censor board had denied permission to screen the film, alleging that it was anti-national. The censor committee in Thiruvananthapuram said that the reason for denying permission for the exhibition was due to the JNU agitation and the reference to Kashmir. The BJP leader, who is a member of the censor board, reacted to the film on Twitter after seeing the film. Eventually, the Varthamanam movie got the clearance to release with minor changes by the Mumbai Censor Revision Committee.
