It is ironical that while Sohan Roy’s project Indywood endeavours to bridge the gap between Hollywood and Indywood, leveraging joint production facilities and resource-sharing, his own movie project is getting hampered by protests from Hollywood giants!
Hollywood Giants impede ‘Burning Wells’
The shooting schedule of the epic movie ‘Burning Wells’ from BizTV Network is delayed due to objections raised by major Hollywood studios over its title registration. Burning Wells, directed by the director duo I.V Sasi and Sohan Roy was launched during recently concluded Indywood Film Carnival 2016 at Hyderabad, and since then it started receiving challenges from industry majors targeting the movie title itself. The birth of issues have created a hurdle for the film makers even before the movie has started rolling, but the makers have full faith in the script and is confident about this huge project. The entire team is upbeat to cross these hurdles and to create a visual extravaganza ignoring the issues upraised.
Burning Wells, a 25 million USD project, produced in English, Arabic and Hindi based on Iraq- Kuwait war of 1990, is expected to join the league of Saving private Ryan, Apocalypse Now and Schindler’s List, when released in 2018. 600 Kuwaiti oil wells were set alight by Iraq in the gulf war. The ‘Burning Wells’ searches for some human relationships and dreams burnt along with those. Burning wells is the first international co- production deal of ‘Project Indywood’ which focuses on mustering global investment in international movie production. It is truly inexplicable that the first project of indywood itself is stumbling on its own blocks.
